Most
referrals are made through the student’s school district special education
department. Students must have an IEP stating eligibility for Non-Public School
placement (“NPS”). Parents who are interested in Sand Paths Academy should
contact the special education department within their school district. An
official referral to Sand Paths Academy will be sent to us by the District. A copy will
be sent to the parent, who should then contact the On-Site Director, Anne
Crowder, for an intake appointment. If the student is offered placement, Ms.
Crowder will inform both the parent and the respective district representative.
An individual contract will then be signed, so that the District will be billed
for the student’s tuition. Sand
Paths also accepts students for private placement. In these cases, parents
should contact the On-Site Director to schedule an intake appointment. If the
student is accepted for placement, an individual contract will be drawn up with
the parents regarding tuition fees.
